Follow these steps to configure Okta SSO for your organization
Follow these steps to setup your Okta integration with MODocs. Alternatively, you can book a call with us to go over setup with your Okta Admin.
Service Provider (SP)-Initiated Authentication (SSO) Flow - This authentication flow occurs when the user attempts to log in to the application from MODocs.
Identity Provider (IDP)-Initiated Authentication (SSO) Flow - This authentication flow occurs when the user attempts to log in to MODocs from Okta.
Note that user role management is not supported through Okta. Users and their MODocs roles will still need to be managed from the MODocs User Management page.
1. In Okta, go to Applications → Browse App Catalog, and search and add MODocs
2. You will put in a value for subdomain that you want for your subdomain in subdomain.modocs.cloud.
3. Assign users that need access to MODocs
4. Navigate to the Sign On tab
5. Copy the values of Client ID and Client secret (click the eye button to toggle visibility)
6. Find and click the OpenID Provider Metadata link
7. In the JSON document, locate the issuer key and copy its URL-value
Visit www.modocs.ai/request-account to request an admin account with MODocs.
Once your admin account is approved, use the credentials provided by the MODocs team to log in at MODocs Login.
1. Login to your MODocs workspace with your setup credentials
2. Navigate to Org Settings
3. Turn on Okta login
4. Enter the issuer, secret, and client ID copied from Okta
5. If not set, configure your workspace wildcard URL to match the subdomain from step 1.
1. Log out of MODocs
2. Navigate to your workspaceurl/login
3. Test the Okta login option
4. Once verified, return to Org Settings
5. Optionally disable Google and credential login methods
Access the User Management section from the MODocs dashboard.
When adding new users, make sure to select Login with SSO as their authentication method.
Users can now log in to MODocs using their Okta credentials. The user can log in using SP SSO by visiting the login URL provided in step 4 for the organization and click login with Okta. The user ca also log in with IDP SSO, logging in from the Okta dashboard into the MODocs platform.
